Root Pros & cons of rooting

So I'm considering rooting, but don't quite know what all I will be able to do with it. Just a list of the advantages and risks of doing it would be cool. Thanks

not really any risk involved unless you do something out of the ordinary... but the advantages are you gain control of your phone and can load custom roms and kernels over clock, get wireless N, etc.

There aren't really any disadvantages as yojoe stated, aside from losing your warranty, but you can easily revert back and no one would be the wiser.

Just don't pull your battery while you're flashing a rom and you should be fine. And honestly, I'm not even sure if that would brick your phone.
