protecting the DNA

hello all, i am looking at getting the DNA and giving my mom my old razr HD as she shattered her droid x.

As I am a lifeguard at a pool, i was wondering what cases or pouch like items i could get for it. I also want to put a case on it to avoid shattering it.

what thin and protective cases do you guys use? will a simple TPU case work? or should i get like the otterbox commuter?

What waterproof items can i use to protect my phone in case i drop it into the pool. (depth is no issue as it is 3 feet deep) also must fit a case in it.

If no such combo exists, i might just have to get a IP5 to get a lifeproof case... but iOS is so boring!!!!

I have the Cruzerlite case on mine. When at the beach or at our lake dock, I always have my phone in a ziplock. I do the same thing with a Kindle. It's cheap, and it keeps sand/water away. If I need to make a call, I make it, and then it goes right back in.

Every time i get a new phone, until I get my screen protector, it goes in a zip lock bag in my pocket to prevent scratches.

With my old Incredible I kept a silicone case and a screen protector on for a few months but got rid of the screen protector shortly after. I never had any scratch issues. Unfortunately I dropped my 6 week old DNA face down on a concrete sidewalk yesterday (hadn't bought a case yet) and the screen is in pretty bad shape (still works and I'm taking it in to geek squad for a claim). Any case recommendations? My incredible took face down falls(with and without a case) without a scratch but I don't want to chance anything again with this phone. My sister has an Otterbox commuter on her iphone and my dad has a defender on his Razr HD. Any other suggestions?

I haven't used this one but it is well rated for keeping water out:

Dandycase water proof

The case I use for my DNA is the ballistic sg maxx. I removed the screen protector since it degrades image quality but other than that the case is excellent.

I have the Seidio Active and can recommend it. It does add bulk (shame, considering the sleekness of the phone) but not too much. The silicone sides improve grip on the phone and the kickstand is a nice touch as well.

Mine just arrived, it's the only case I have found so far that plays well with zagg screen protectors (or any wet application film). I had purchased the diztronic, and while I liked the sleekness, it pushed up the screen protector on the edges. Plus even though it states not for use with the wireless chargers, it works fine as far as I can tell.

I can confirm the diztronic pushing up the screen protector (skinomi) on my wife's phone. I'm in charge of her device maint and protection, so Im open to new ideas.

I like the diztronic though. Nice and slim. Sexy.
