I see a lot of threads with people new to the Captivate and or Android. I thought it would be nice to put together a thread of tips / hints for other users. Stuff that may seem second-nature to some people may be brand new to other users. The post could be for a tip for all Android versions, Android 2.1 specifically, or even for TouchWiz. I'll start in my next post.

This isnt really a pro-tip, but I've seen the question asked a great deal.
When you plug your phone up to your PC, you need to slide the dragbar down
from the top and click the USB option and MOUNT your "drives" for windows
to be able to read/write to them.
The surest symptom of the drives not being mounted is new drive
letters show up in My Computer, but clicking them prompts you to
"insert disk".
