Root Proxy Question

I saw this over at the Pandora thread. Basically there was a fix in in which the proxy settings were set to 0:

1. After you have your MSL go to your phone dial pad and type ##3282#
2. Click Edit Mode
3. Click Advanced
4. Scroll down to HTTP PD Proxy Port & HTTP PD Proxy Address
5. Change HTTP PD Proxy Port to 0 (zero)
6. Change HTTP PD Proxy Address to 0.0.0.0
7. Go enjoy Downloads and a .20-.60 mbps increase in 3G speeds!

If you're rooted you can download MSL reader from Market to get your MSL code.


Anyone know if this speeds up web browsing at all?

After doing my own tests it looks like this does provide an increase in 3g speeds. Before I would consistently get 500k to 800k downloads. Now during the same time of day I get over 1meg downloads. Worth a shot for those interested.
