Root pulled the trigger on the ICS leak

Thanks for the quick reply. I wonder what the 72 part update is all about? Do you pull the battery while it is running or after a shutdown? Any downside to the upgrade? So I should press the Up Volume key?

Good news I did the process over again, and I now have ICS B) SD card is now accessible n lifes good again lol...my apologies for blowing this thread up.

I know you said that even with the cover off, you had reception on your last go-around, but I recall having an issue with my SD card on my OG Droid where it wouldn't mount, and as it turned out, it required a signal (presumably there's some sort of registration...?) before the phone could recognize it. Lesson learned - don't hard-boot while you're in the subway!

I installed the RUU and ran into a few problems that made me think it was going to brick my phone. I had to install it twice. The phone would not turn on for a few minutes even after a battery pull, the battery got really hot, and it didn't last very long(went from 20% to 0% in about 5 minutes).
After a few restarts, things have gotten very stable. The battery isn't hot anymore and things are speedy.
Now that its seems the bugs have worked themselves out, I am loving the update. Battery life seems to be back to Gingerbread levels. Multitasking is really quick and smooth. No noticeable lag.
One thing I don't like(but I will get use to it) is how HTC flipped the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons. I'm so use to having the "Ok" button on the left side so I've been canceling things instead of "Ok"ing them.

I powered it off..removed battery, and went it powered up it did its thing..also when I restarted it. Ive experienced no significant downsides....doitt.

And yea I also dont dog them switching the OK and cancel button... Also dontlike how I can't search for an app thru the magnified icon any longer nor do they show up on the Google search widget... Does anyone know a solution so I can search an app by typing it in?

Downloaded the leak, put it on the phone, but I couldn't get into the bootloader. Is it down volume or up before the power button? It kept restarting like normal.

While powered off, volume down + power gets you into Fastboot. Volume up + power is used to get into recovery when you get the red triangle with the exclamation point.

if youre having trouble getting to bootloader, make sure you have the "fastboot" setting unchecked in settings/power

also,id encourage you to give alot of thot to installing this leak. while you can downgrade software with special patches, you are stuck with the radios, hboot, and other fimrware until newer leaks arise.

scotts cleanrom and nilsp's business sense(and prolly others) both have speical patches that you can run this leak with your current fimrware, wich,IMO,is much safer.

Can anyone who's using ICS from whatever ROM on the Rezound check the Google Play/Market and see if Google Catalogs is available? It is available on my tab but I don't know if that's a function of ICS or the fact that it's a tablet.

Thanks for all the info. This is a helpful thread!

checked it on my rezound(stock leak) and my sensation(cm9) and didnt see google catalogs on either market.

my guess is that its a tablet thing.

as long as you can get it on your tablet, you could try side loading it onto your phone and see if it works :)

updated to the new ics ruu and was stock for a while then tried sense 4 on bamf evita and love it so far. If you want to try something different and smooth as butter ,try it.it is a lot better than the stock ics ruu.

i ran a sense 4 endeavor port on my sensation and it was neat. i will try one of them on my rezound eventually, but to be a DD i need to not have to reboot every time someone sends me a pic message  ;)

im not criticising, newt has done a fantastic job in getting it to work.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought I ready somewhere that if you use Go SMS and disable the stock messaging app this problem goes away. I could totally be wrong though :p

I'm on Newts One XXX rom. The mms thing is bugging me but I did not try the go sms thing yet. When rotating the screen im havin major lag, but these are known issues. Somewhere people were saying that it all smooths out and 'settles' after using it for a while. Who knows..
I really want to get a stock ics without sense on this next.. Don't know which to turn to tho..

I need to return my Rezound to VZW, was wondering how I can get back to the way my phone was when I bought it?

I'm currently on CleanRom 4.3 which is using the 3.11.605.22 leak. I downloaded the RUU_Vigor_VERIZON_WWE_2.01.605.11_Radio_RS_0.95.00 .1123r_3161E_9K_QMR_release_233635_signed.exe and was wondering if I can just use that to get back to stock and then just re-lock the bootloader using the HTCDEV tool? I know it'll still say "tampered" or whatever but they really don't check that.

Is there a way to get back to 2.01.605.11 or earlier? Or am I stuck on this ICS leak?

the only way to get completely back to 2.01.605.11 is to run juopunutbear's s-off tool. once you are s-off,you can roll back to 2.01.605.11,then turn s back on.
s-off: Unlimited.IO
s back on: [HOW TO]get back to s on from juopunutbear s-off - xda-developers

otherwise,no. if you ran the leak, the best you can hope for with an s-on phone is to relock and rerun leak, ending up with relocked s-on, on 3.11.605.22

is this wire trick dangerous? ive never attempted anything like that before, what are the chances that i just brick my phone for good?

also, if i did try this, where could i get the wire required for this?

did you watch the video? i dont believe its dangerous, your just completing a circuit to put the phone into some kind of download mode. there have been no bricks from the procedure that ive heard of.

there is a thread with more info on xda: S-off is Official!!! With Instructions... - xda-developers

its in general,so you can post in it if you have questions that arent answered.

if youre not concerned about the phone saying "relocked" then just re-run the ICS ruu. its a signed by htc, approved by vzw update, theres nothing "illegal" about installing it ;) you could say you only unlocked to try and get back to gingerbread ;)

the other way you could look at it,is does it matter if you return the phone as a brick,or with whatever issue youre returning it for? either way, youre returning it for a warranty exchange, correct?

risks:
if you get a static elect charge you can zap your phone
if you touch the wire to the wrong places you can zap your phone

zap into a brick

p.s. I did it successfully

Running the ICS leak... Never rooted, Never HTCDev unlocked, S-ON.
Everything still factory, just that leaved ROM.

Will I still get the upcoming OTA push?

prolly not. the updater scripts tend to look only for official release build numbers,so youll need to be on 2.01.605.11 in order to get the "real" OTA.

youll prolly have to upgrade to official ICS the same way you updated to the leak... via RUU.

ive been having problems with my rezound, not root or rom related. just gonna be a pain to try and and get back to GB. i guess if i brick my phone they will have no way of knowing what happened. i could just say i woke up in the morning and it wont turn on. but thats shady lol.

I am going to wait for the official ICS to come out, then the roms will be SOOOO much better and stable.

I will mess around with roms for a little bit, but I always go back to stable builds.

Can't stand when you have to reboot for mms, or the lag for screen rotation. I am not trying to diss any devs or anything like that. It's free so I can't complain, just saying for me personally I prefer stable roms. And I've found in all my years that the most stable roms are built off of official updates to your device.

Things always get weird when you are running a port from an at&t one x on a verizon rezound...or whatever the case may be.
