Root Purity rom by Droid Theory is live

How is this different from shift3r? Looks similar.

...looks like going foward that Shifter will have some elements of blur in it (I can't live without that quick contacts widget!)

And the Purity will be an ASOP experience with all the blur stripped out.

So ummm...I messed up. I consider myself a seasoned flasher but I can be a dodo sometimes.

Anyways, I didn't get to flash this ROM yet because I got stuck in m screen. My battery was low so I couldn't use Dhacker's fastboot recovery and my phone wouldn't charge. Anyways, so I can't compare purity vs the old deblurred rom until I get my phone up and running.

Lovin' [P]urity rom with the GB and/or IC3 th3ory paks! Fast, easy on my eyes, and my trusty LPPlus feels right at home. Minor power menu issue caused by the hift3r circle battery addon, and some popup menu fg/bg color issues, but not insurmountable. Nice work guys, nice, nice work.:)

A few days later, there is now a circle battery addon for [P]urity so I don't have issues caused by using the hifter addon, and the popup menu color issue appears to be in the Astro app with this rom; other apps work.

So I have nothing but compliments to the developers. They are very responsive to users. If issues are reported, they are evaluated and promptly corrected. But this rom is smooth, fast, and clean.

I love that widget too. It's they only thing keeping me from using a different launcher and trying de-blurred roms.

so I flashed the base ROM successfully, but that's as far as his detailed instructions go. I just have a simple question, really. Do I need to factory reset and format systam again to install [P]urity_IC3_V2.4? Or can I simply boot into recovery, select the .zip file, and flash it?

Just flash the zip file. You can wipe cache, dalvik, etc. if you want to as well.

The instructions don't jump out there....wipe cache and dalvik.

thanks guys! I was about to do just that because that's what I would have done with my incredible but I wanted to make sure. the dev made it sound like my phone would melt if I deviated at all from the instructions.

well this is disappointing. my 3G is absolutely terrible with this ROM. I rarely have 3G now, in fact. This sucks, I didn't have this issue before. I guess I get to restore yet AGAIN.

I've noticed after flashing that I have to manually set my network to "CDMA only" each time. Did you check to see if that was the case?
