Well, I think I should restrict screen size for 3.5". Anything bigger will be too big.

BTW, what is for Android when Google takes over Motorola?

Well Did you check Motorola Milestone 2 or the HTC Desire Z. Both are rare options though.

Could you please suggest me any phone with internet, push mail, office applications features?

After going through the news I am getting discouraged to have Samsung mobile(HTC does'nt have service center in my city, SE spares are not easily available in my city). So choice is limited.

Just hang around for a bit .Samsung is going to release the third generation of Smart Phones around mid-september/October.

The acquisition news has no relation/effect to consumer .

You are forgetting Samsung has hired Steve "Cyanogen" Kondik who is the BEST Android ROM Developer in the World !!!!!

Seriously Go for Nexus S .Google will give it 2.4 update .The older Nexus One has gingerbread even though it was HTC.

Spice M410 is also a decent phone .LG Optimus Black is also good.

Else Go for the Symbian Anna Platform if you are comfortable with Symbian .

Always remember .Customer is always loyal to the Phone not the Operating System.

If you are more comfortable with Symbian than with Android ,please use that .
Though Symbian will never match android in the quantity/quality of apps and OS but if it does what you require it will be perfect phone for you.
I have never used Symbian (except S40 which is hopeless) so no pro comments about it .

The Google-Motorola acquisition wont have any effect on the updates for the other phone manufacturers .Android is OSS ,you know.
 
I can wait till October(though desperate now :))

I am using Nokia 6030 for more than 5 years. Do not have any mobile OS experience.

I would prefer i9000. Some where I read that i9003 has high SAR value.

How would you compare i9000 with Nexus S? What does it mean when we say that Nexus has good software support directly from Google as compare to i9000?

Thats software support not the actual software .

The Nexys S is google phone ,dev phone ,basic vanilla
The Galaxy S is a samsung phone with TouchWiz and stuff .The TW music player is one of the best (So I heard ) .So you have access to a decent quality apps .
Plus Galaxy S has kickass community and CyanogenMod support .
Whenever Google release 4.0 version ,the CyanogenMod will be ready in days .SO you wont be actually missing out on software front by much .
It's quite nice phone

Well Samsung hired Steve "cyanogen" Kondik ,creator of cyanogenmod .
So it should be all right .:)

I am inclining towards i9000 now. After having almost all the features it lacks LED flash. Does it make any difference?

Also, to wait further how about Galaxy W?

One more thing about screen displays- Super AMOLED vs. Super LCD. Which is better and in what terms?

It depends on if you actually .That said the camera is said to be quite good.
SUPER AMOLED is way better than SUPER LCD
It consumes less battery than the latter.
We have to see about Galaxy W which should be successor to Galaxy S SL

I have almost zeroed in on i9000 Galaxy S and i9023 Nexus S.

I found one review from user on GSM Arena as follows:
I own this phone & my brother has Galaxy S I9000. This phone is more futuristic than the Galaxy S. I would say that the Galaxy S has a better hardware surely but this one is always updated one step ahead of any other Android device.Software is twice better than the Galaxy S. The Browsing & internet is amazingly fast on this phone.If one is ready to compromise with the super AMOLED screen than This one is a better option

NOW, as per above, if I go for Nexus S I have to sacrifice AMOLED, Gorilla Glass, FM Radio, HD Video, etc.

If I go for i9000 Galaxy S I'll be missing camera flash, regular s/w updates.

Also, Nexus S doesn't have microSD card slot.

LOOKING at above, HOW WILL YOU WEGIH both the devices?

Nexus S 9020 has SUPER AMOLED actually :D .(It's costlier though)

Now if you are one of the guys who wishes to update every now and then (once every two months),have the latest software and going to do try custom ROMs or stuff like a computer geek/developer ,the Nexus S is the Device to own

If however you are going to use it as a smartphone ,update it less frequently (once in four months) ,use the phone to it's max capabilities ,want a decent GUI (Nexus is vanilla ,Galaxy S is choco-dip) ,good music player and some stuff which you dont want to customize ,Galaxy S is the way to go .

Between the two ,Galaxy S is no brainer (or actually wait for the Galaxy W )
Of course if you like flash ,you can go for Nexus S but soon 16 GB will be filled and at that time updates wont be a priority :rolleyes:
 
One deciding factor I see is scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. Galaxy S has it. Does Gorilla Glass really helpful?

Nexus S has Countour display. Is it really helpful?

According to me Gorilla Glass is important since you wont require scratch guard making the Touchscreen resilient.It's quite handy .
Contour display is more a fanboy feature .(the display is slighty curved)
Gorilla Glass vs Contour
Gorilla Wins hands down IMHO .

Now the point is software updates. Who has the possibility to keep getting latest Android versions- Galaxy S or Nexus S? Since Nexus S is Google, I think it will get Ice Cream Sandwich also.

One more thing hurting about absence of Flash in Galaxy S. Do you know any app which can be used in place of absence of Flash?

Otherwise, I have to go for Nexus S with scratch guard(again don't know how it will be useful to avoid scratches)

Flash is supported on ALL V7 PROCESSOR DEVICES INCLUDING GALAXY S
Epic4G == Fascinate == Galaxy S
application programming | Adobe Flash Platform - Certified devices
I run Flash 10.1 and I have V6 processor phone (It's hacked of course ;) )

About updates
Galaxy S = Nexus S more or less
IF it will be available on nexus
it will be available on Galaxy albeit after some time.
or there is always cyanogenMod or some other AOSP ROM .
 
By Flash I mean CAMERA FLASH. It hurts when we pay 20k and if any feature is missing.

So by CyanogenMod we'll be able to get Android ICS? For how much?

And as Steve Kondik is hired by Samsung, will Samsung allow Kondik's CyanongenMod to make available updates on Samsung devices?

That will be answered by steve Kondik

and get the Nexus S if you want the camera flash
