Help Push gmail

Brudus

Newbie
I have three gmail accounts on my phone. Is there any way I can have one of the accounts be pushed, but the other two not.

The Gmail app is push-only.

You could use a third party app like K-9, and set one account up to get pushed while the other two are fetch only.

Maybe you have a good reason to want this, but push email actually wastes less battery than fetch email because it's not having to poll when there is no data to receive.

Thanks. i'll look at that K-9. I want one e-mail address to be pushed because it is for work and I want to get that e-mail immediately.

Sure. I just mean that, if you have a reason you don't want the other accounts pushed, that's fine... but it's a better delivery method than fetch, so it may be a good idea to let all of your mail be pushed.

Don't think that's correct information.

You most certainly can set up multiple gmail accounts, and have select ones set as "manual sync".

In each gmail account, go into account settings and disable sync. You'll only get email when you actively sync the account.

Not sure again why you'd want to do this, but it is possible.
