Help Push Notification for Gmail - Intermittent

I've been having an issue for about a week now, but due to the intermittent nature of the problem, I haven't really been able to close in on the culprit.

My Gmail push notifications don't seem to be working all the time. For a while I thought it was only when on Wi-Fi, but just now my emial wasn't being pushed through 3G so I'm not sure what to make of it.

Facebook notifications still come in, it's just Gmail's. I've tried removing gmail accounts and re-adding them. I've disabled and re-enabled syncs and background syncs. I've uninstalled all apps that I've installed in the past few weeks.

Anyway, just reaching out to see if anyone is having similar issues and/or if they've had any better luck with resolving things.

i am also having the same issues. i just thought it was gmail side of things like updating servers or what not. but i am curious if anyone else has/is experiencing this too.

I am having the EXACT same problem. My gmail isn't pushing at all anymore.

Yes, I've made sure that my "sync gmail" is checked.
Yes, I've cleared the cache.
Yes, I've cleared the data.

I will say, it will work for an hour or maybe a day after I clear the cache and data...but then, will stop automatically syncing soon after.

What's going on here?!?!

This is on my EVO 4G - - - and started about a month ago. It just seems to be getting worse.

That's how it's always been for me - sporadic and unpredictable. I use the standard email and have Gmail and Yahoo accounts in both. The Yahoo is even worse than the Gmail. If it seems "stuck" so that it isn't pushing at all for long periods, it seems to help if I shut the phone off and turn it back on.

I was using K9 mail and decided to switch back to Gmail. I tried it for a day when K9 mail was installed and it worked fine. Now 2 days later and its not syncing at all. Thoughts? K9 Mail is no longer installed.

I just restarted my phone and gmail pushed.
Emails received.

I've done that too...restarted, that is.

Again, I've cleared cache. Cleared data. Restarted. Everything - multiple times.

It will work for a little bit, but eventually gmail will stop automatically syncing stuff. It's getting rather frustrating.

Why do some people seem to have no idea what we're talking about and other people are experiencing the exact same thing?

Why is this not affecting everyone who uses gmail on a droid?...

Any chance anyone knows why I cannot get my gmail account to work through HTC without using the gmail app itself? I've tried adding account and it always stops me from adding after I enter my password, stating wrong username/password. Yet it is the correct one because I can log in online and through the app to retrieve my gmail. I have an EVO and all other email accounts come through on HTC's "mail" without an extra app.
