Push vs Pull email and battery use

Just thinking, should the Push Gmail use less battery power than "Pull" such as Yahoo Mail. It would seem that the pull process is having to go look every 15 min and the Push process is merely sending it as it arrives. Just a rookie here, so what say ye?

The push would use more battery because you're getting constant notifications. For instance, you get 10 emails in 15 minutes: push email you're getting 10 separate notifications and pull emaill you're only pulling it once.

Edit: If you have it setup where your pulling the email every 15 minutes and rarely getting any emails then pull would use more battery.
