Putting gps on timer/schedule

So I use my phone all day. I take about 75 calls per day on it. Each call is an average of 2 min. I use it to add jobs to my calendar, browse the net, I use Pandora and more stuff that I can't recall.

I bought the 10,000mah powerhouse zero lemon battery. Last forever.

I bought juice defender ultimate to save even more battery.

No matter how much battery I save, it's never enough. So I want more. My only idea is to set the gps/location on a schedule.

My friends want to go camping this weekend for 4 days. This phone will only last 3.

Luckily juice defender allows me to have almost full control of all settings, tons of scheduler. But I can't seem to find the GPS radio scheduler.

Does anyone know how to put the GPS on a schedule, like say... Shut down automatically at 12am and start at 6am

Thanks again. I've received useful replies to all my post this week

I mean you could just use toggles and turn it off at midnight, but this sounds like something tasker could accomplish as well.

I found a site explaining how to use Juice Defender: Overview | How to use JuiceDefender

My experience with Juice Defender is that it is not worth it. I have had greater success with being careful which apps I run and making sure that I don't leave too many web pages open before I put my phone down. I too have Zero Lemon's super battery and it works GREAT!

A few questions since you use your phone a lot:
1. How often do you turn it off or reboot it? If the answer is "never", then that could be an issue. Items staying in the nonvolitile memory could be causing your phone to work harder, and thus using more battery.

2. Does your phone have a strong signal when you are using it? IF it does not and you notice that the phone itself is very warm, it may once again be working very hard.

3. Do you use WiFi where ever possible? This keeps the phone from working so hard when you are in an area where phone service is limited. I have the ability to log on via WiFi automatically when I walk into a known area.

Just a few suggestions, but I'd rally try to get away from the "battery savers" when possible. Often enough, they end up turning this off over and over again because the apps themselves keep restarting...thus using more battery power.

Best of luck.

1. Well I not ever turn my phone off really. Unless it's an update day for my custom ROM then it will happen a few times that day, otherwise I really don't.

2. My phone, compared to my last device, has great signal, never really had a problem with it. My phone rarely gets really warm.

3. I usually always keep my Data toggled off, unless I really need it. Wifi is always on.

You might want to look into an app called, "Tasker", to accomplish the tasks you are looking for then :)

I don't reboot my phone but after doing some research, I'm going to do this every night or other night. My phone always has strong signal. I live in Los Angeles so it's rare that I'm at a spot with Bad signal.

As for WiFi, I am usually at 3 different locations and each location is already set to automatically connect and override 4g. Once I did this I saved 30/month going from an unlimited plan to a 2gb plan. It worked out just right.

Are you guys talking about the first Tasker that appears when searching the the play store? The one that cost $3 or something like that? I don't mind spending the money but I would like to make sure that this is the Tasker that you guys are referring to. There's quite a few.

Here is a link to Tasker

Just make sure to read up on it first. We have a dedicated forum to the app because it's so helpful. Check it out below:

I tried creating the GPS on task, but it says that it can now only be done in root?? I have no clue what root is. I've heard people do this to their phones but that's as far as my knowledge goes.

Can someone help me understand how and what that is exactly?
