Root [Q] Slow tethering speeds?

When I run a speed test on my phone, the download speed is about 1mb/s, however, when I use usb tethering or wireless hotspot (CM7 and third party apps) it only downloads at 100kb/s or less. Any idea why it does that or how to fix it?
 
Take this with a grain of salt as im not a dev or pro but ive noticed...

Weather and ime of day are factors...try to keep it before 7am and when weather in surounding cities is pretty calm

Length of tethering is a factor such as phone getting too
Hot and custom cpu settings . Try to do it fast.. know your download links
And proceed without distraction

These are surface non technical observations but might help your expectations

Thankfully i barely need to tether as yhe triumphs screensize has me barely
Using my computers. Im even able to psy my bills faster on my phone. Tethering
can be so useful sometimes im so glad the devs made it possibl for when its mich more expedient :)

My phone never gets hot when I tether. And I did a speed test on my pc and phone one after another, pc was 112kb/s, phone was 953kb/s
 
And I spend sometimes 4+, hours at a time tethering, sometimes downloading large files, sometimes watching YouTube. Rarely ever gets hot, only occasionally does it even get warm
