Root [Q] To root!

I've tried to come up with a reason not to flash custom ROMs... can't do it.

Don't mind sremick, he works for Samsung or something.

And running as I want it to includes basic things working like haptic feedback on the home button, the button lights coming on when you touch the screen, slide-to-call off the call log, and not having weird things mess up your phone like a "Self shot" button on the camera that screws up your camera settings so bad it requires a reflash to reset them (a nice new "feature" of the latest Phoenix ROM). And all the other stuff people give up just to say "HA! I'm running Froyo and you aren't! neener neener". :p

None of those are a problem on any decently put together ROM (Read: mine).

With the exception of the Home button Haptic feedback (OH THE HORROR!!!!!). And who knows how long until I fix it. Maybe never, maybe tomorrow.

Stop spreading fud.

You know, personal attacks really aren't necessary. I have nothing against you and have reached out to you kindly several times.

It's not "FUD" as those are problems that do exist on some ROMs. And when I asked what, if any, known issues Assonance had, you said you didn't know. It wasn't until I started mentioning specific issues I had seen on other ROMs that you started taking this so personally for some reason.

I've reached out the olive branch many times to you, as I have nothing against you... no need to be so nasty. :) Like I've told you before: I like what you're doing with your ROMs (relative to some of the other ones out there). Peace...

@sremick Cognitions home button has great haptic you should try it out, lmao.

Indeed, but that's because it's based on the old leaked early "beta" 2.2 for the Captivate. The i9000-based ROMs are much more-modern with more improvements... but lack perfect Captivate hardware support. :(

DG has moved on to Perception, which is a nice ROM. Hopefully he can do some nice things with Perception once the final 2.2 for the Captivate comes out.

Haven't had much time to experiment with new Roms lately as I have developed a soft spot for my wife who trade her android for a iphone......I know, I know. Its been a while now and I decided that I would help her customize it, I installed so many themes and customizations on this thing it looks more android then my phone. I also got to give some credit to the devs for coming up with some themes that are just unbelievable and stunning. I did not think it was possible to make an Iphone nice to look at. Lol

DG maintains both quite well. Sorry

Thread Jacker!!!

Sremick is just crazy. Dude, read dg's rom thread title "smoothest stock experience". Cognition Rocks!! Flashed Perception for a minute and its ok...

To all those leery about flashing, read as much as you can, if you think your ready, go for it!!!!! I went from noob to helping others in about 5 days...

You do realize that you're replying to a very old post of mine and bumping a dormant thread? When that post was made, Cognition 3 didn't exist yet and Cognition 2.2 hadn't been updated in ages.

I am well aware of Cognition 3 existing now. It only exists because of the release of the 2.2 Rogers Captivate ROM. Until then, there was nothing to warrant a new Cognition, so it stagnated while DG focused on Perception.

I don't seem as "crazy" when you're not digging up old, outdated posts and treating them like I said them yesterday.

And one thing I said in that post still stands: even Cognition lacks full USA Captivate support. The Rogers Captivate doesn't have an Audience chip apparently, so Cognition 3 still can't enable the hardware-based voice-processing and noise-reduction available in the stock AT&T Captivate ROM. Hopefully that'll change someday.
