AOSP enables a program called stagefright. When you run the quadrant test stagefright crashes, which makes the test think it finished early. This gives you a falsely elevated score. There is no way our phones can get that high of a score from a rom upgrade. Read this thread for more info.

AOSP does have a number of speed tweaks built into it. All the custom roms do. I was running AOSP until I got tired of not having full function of my phone, no zoom on the camera, limited bluetooth, alarm clock not working. When they finally get it all working then I'll switch back. I liked all cyanogen extras and mods, but think I'll wait until they get everything 100%. i am happy running AOSP

bluetooth and zoom and alarm arent big features to me. i get to say i am on gingerbread and a nice speed bump. i am happy.

Oh boy i get to say i am running Gigerbread but the basic features that make this a smartphone do not work properly,maybe i will beta test these bugged Roms,better yet i will write a check to the developers.for screwing with open source code.what next the phone will not work but it's as fast as an Atrix,at least thats what an inaccurate benchmark app told me,to each is own i guess.

i know i am not the smartest when it comes to smartphones or mods but comon. bluetooth, zoom on a camera and an alarm clock arent smartphone festures. Barely features at all. I didnt use any of them on my old flip phone much less my Optimus.

Bluetooth is huge when driving a car in a good amount of states not having it can cost you 130 dollars,and some of us like to hear the audio out of a nice set of stereo headsets,so to say the bluetooth is not important to a smartphone,is crazy, and most would agree.and the end i paid for a full working phone,and that is what i maintain.

Me too. I'm just hoping that VM USA get the LG 2.3 out a bit sooner than they managed for the Samsung 2.2 release for the Intercept. IF it turns out to not be well done, then I'll be back to considering AOSP CM7 release, which hopefully by then will be feature complete or closer than it is now...
