Quadrant vs. Linpack scores

Fascinate (root w/lag fix):
Quadrant: 2200+
Linpack: 7-8 MFLOPS

Incredible (rooted w/custom ROM):
Quadrant: 1150+
Linpack: 33+ MFLOPS

Honestly, the Dinc is still alot faster overall and I'm still getting lag with the SF, especially if a Samsung widget (ex: buddies) is on the screen.

Which of these is a better score of raw performance (ie: little lag).

I'm going to read though the same question posted on the Eris forums now...

quadrant vs. linpack - Android Forums

Froyo and specifically the JIT complier is what accounts for the massive jump in Linpack scores. Its one of the beauties of 2.2. Quadrant is almost meaningless

So why does the SF feel laggy/jumpy still? Do I just need to wait for 2.2 for the SF to get the better performance gains that I'm used to with the Dinc?

Neither is really an accurate way of telling how great a phone is. Not to mention Linpack doesn't seem to like any non-qualcomm chips so there won't be as much of a jump in the linpack score of the fascinate when it gets 2.2. And from what I've seen, pretty much any Sense phone is going to look and feel smoother than any of the other variations on Android because of the way it's made.
