Root Question about after rooting

is there a possible way you can change internal memory storage to more even a gb after you root? Or will you have to reroot to change the memory? please give me a step by step thanks.

yes you can,and no do not have to reroot again, all depends on the way you partition your sd card, and what setup you run, and what size card you have too. you need to decide what rom you want to run and then can go from there. they all varry a little but kinda work the same way. so check out the roms and see what you like and we can go from there.

All you have to do is create (by repartitioning) a sdext that is the size you want. Kouma has made an app that can make it any size you desire.

REPARTITIONING YOUR CARD WILL WIPE YOUR SDCARD CLEAN. BACKUP ANYTHING YOU NEED FROM THE CARD.

Kouma's app:

to do this without losing any data

1. make a backup
2. copy contents of card to pc
3. Repartition card
4. copy contents from pc to card
5. restore the backup you made
6. ???
7 PROFIT!

Easiest way:
Make backup (in cwm)

Copy sdcard to pc

Factory reset (cwm)

Install sdparter.apk

Open app

Choose partition size(s)

Let finish

Copy contents back to card

Restore backup

Yes. Cwm has limited options for sizes. Kouma's app does not

Edit- you DO go into recovery (cwm) to make your backup AND to preform the factory reset... But not to partition the card. The reason for the factory reset is so that your not using the sdext when you try to partition. The app, when installed using data mode, would be on the sdext, and get deleted during the partitioning progress. This could cause problems.

Put it on your sdcard.

Open your file explorer (any)

Locate the app

Press it.

When prompted to install, do so.

*note, you have to enable installation of apps from unknown sources.
(menu> settings> applications> unknown sources)

If 1gb is all you wanted, you could do that in cwm (1024=1gb) the size is listed in mb... 512mb=.5gb, 1024mb=1gb, 2048mb=2gb, etc

I thought by your posts that you wanted more... Although i use 1gb and have never come close to filling it up...

If you are not using a partition for swap, choose 0. Swap is not memory for apps, it's virtual ram.

(in your case, until you do some research about how swap works, i would just stay away from swap for now)
Ps- not hating, merely an observation :)

I'm so lost right now lol. I'm still trying to even to get it I still end up with just 128 mb what am I doing wrong?

Are you changing your to data mode in the koumamod settings?

maybe i got WAY ahead of myself.
Are you running ctmod?
Are you using data mode?
Did you follow the whole 'root for dummies' guide?

I was under the impression that you already had ctmod (since that's what most/everyone who followed that guide use)

yes I'm running ctmod and I did follow the whole guide. And where do I go to data mode?

Menu> settings> ctmod settings> koumamod settings

Make sure you check 'disable internal data' as well

I'm starting to think I messed up on the root all I have ctmod settings coming up and I can only can change the clock color

.......and after doing what LV said, go back into CWM and format your sd-ext !! ( that part rarely gets mentioned, but is necessary )..........and the first bootup can take up to 8 - 10 minutes..... ;)
