Question about AOL/Shared Data plan

BrianJB

I have a grandfathered unlimited data account with VZW. But I am going to have to add my wife to my account. I don't want my unlimited to go to the wayside if someone else could use it.

So my question is this;

Could I allow someone to do an AOL on my account, then turn around and get a new account with the share everything with my wife and I on it?

Or would VZW say "wtf is this?, you couldnt pay $90/mo but you can pay $150?"

So long as an AOL can be done VZW shouldn't care. however if you're looking to do this you'll likely lose your number.

Cool, thanks for the info. I am not too concerned with the number, its not even the area code for where I am currently living, so I should change it anyways.

Verizon does not allow unlimited data to remain on AOLs anymore. However you can add your wife as an add a line to your existing plan, and keep unlimited, and she would get tiered data if you wanted. Since you are an existing customer, you aren't forced to Share everything just because you are adding a line.

I've read conflicting things about this...some people say it cannot be done, others say it can.

Actually there are people on XDA still selling their unlimited data lines.
