Root question about backing up

RapboY

Lurker
new here. :)

i'm about to purchase an evo 4g, which i've read cannot be rooted yet. i just wanted to ask that if ever i want to root it in the future (once it's doable), will i be able to backup and restore stuff (contacts, etc) everything? if so, how exactly?

sorry if there are already answers out there, they just haven't been very concrete so i had to ask.

thanks!

Once you're rooted, download/donate Titanium Backup and that'll backup everything. Also, once you're rooted you can perform a nandroid backup that will backup your current ROM, settings, contacts, and however your phone was at that particular time. Hope this helps.

You should also use SMS Backup & Restore to backup your SMS messages. It's easier than relying on Titanium backup to do it.
