Question about Cache Folder

Hello Folks,

I'm using Root Explorer to do some house cleaning on my Garminfone A50 and I came along the Cache Folder. Inside there is another folder called Lost+Found(empty) and there are also tons of apk's.....for example downloadfile-10.apk, downloadfile-4.apk and so on. I check on its properties and saw different dates and sizes. Some of these are pretty big( on excess of 10megs) and for my Garminfone 2.1 ver that is questionable use of space.

I would greatly appreciate some information on this. My phone is rooted. So far I've gotten rid of a lot of useless icons and programs that came with the phone. If these apk's are useless I would love to get rid of them as well. Please advise. Thank you!

[DjQUOTE=Slug;2882474]Delete away! Those downloadfile-*.apk files are remnants of Market updates. If all your installed apps are up-to-date then they can be safely trashed.[/QUOTE]

Thank you kindly!
That about freed up a great chunk of space for me. I can always use any more pointers. If you or anyone else know any other safe location I can free up space for my phone I would greatly appreciate it.

Slug, thanks again partner.
