Help Question about Facebook Sync.

I just received an email from HTC today and they said to go in to the accounts and sync menu and manually sync. I tried this and sadly it does not work. I am guessing that the only real fix is to remove the account and then re-add.
 
Please email them back and tell them it didn't work!
I haven't recieved an answer to my email yet. Also I tried doing the sync and it didn't work for me either.
 
i have the same issue. the only fix that i have found it going into accounts, deleting your facebook account, and then adding it again
 
also, some peoples statuses dont change as well, for people linked w twitter and facebook, an older twitter status overwrites facebook status
 
I've also been wondering how to fix this... please keep this thread going and anyone who figures it out or gets a good response let us know.
 
There's an app I downloaded called Facebook Sync; I've used this and it refreshes fb contact pictures. Only thing is it takes a while if you have a lot of fb contacts as it sorts through every profile.

that seems to work for me. but it seemed like i had to manually update people?
im not sure i will play with it more later...
 
I saw that one of my friends changed their profile pic while I was on my computer one day, and looked to my phone to see if it changed in my favorites widget. It hadn't and I thought nothing of it, I checked back every once in awhile, just to see, and it finally changed I think after about 2-3 days. Not a big deal to me, and I honestly kind of like it that way. I feel if it was constantly checking and changing, it would drain the battery like crazy.
 
I had this same problem however it seemed that many of my friends pictures were updating while others were not. I remembered that when I was setting up my contacts in the people app, I had to manually link a lot of my contacts to their respective facebook profiles even though the names were the same while others did this automatically. It seemed the only contacts whose pictures updated were those that it did automatically. By removing the Facebook account through the friendstream app and then signing back in, all of the contacts that required me to manually sync the first time automatically synced up after a few minutes in the people app and seem to be better responding with respects to updating statuses and events etc in the people app.

On another slightly related note, I also noticed that I wasn't really receiving notifications from the Facebook application so I went onto the facebook site on the computer and noticed under allowed applications that there were 2 instances of Facebook for Android in addition to HTC sense. I removed access to the facebook for android programs and then fired up the application on my phone and it required me to resign in and authenticate the application and it has fixed my notifications.
 
A couple of my friends have changed their Facebook profile pictures yet my contacts still reflect the old picture.

I have Facebook sync set to update every hour isn't that supposed to make those sort of changes or how do I go about that?
 
Go to Settings > Accounts & sync,
Click on Add Account at the bottom,
Select Facebook for HTC Sense,
Click sign out,
Select Facebook for HTC Sense again,
Enter your info and sign back in.

Give it about 5 minutes to sync all your contacts and update the pictures. It works every time for me.

Ahhhh looks like it worked and updated everything for me thanks man. :) I just hope I don't have to keep updating it myself each time.
