Question about Gingerbread

Abdur

Android Enthusiast
Just wanted to clarify that if Gingerbread did come for the Nexus One, but not for the Desire, we would still be able to flash Nexus One roms(for Gingerbread), right?
Or perhaps the DHD or Desire Z roms?
Just was curious.

Ah, thanks for that.
I am very very happy with Froyo, but seems like BlindType was bought by Google, and might come out stock in Gingerbread, interested in that.
(Hope they make it as a market app ;) )

i would say that within days if not hours stock 2.3 will be available as a rom for the HTC desire. XDA is the place to tune into when 2.3 finally comes out, im hearing rumours that December 6th is the day... but we have been hearing rumours for weeks now!

Update is:
2.29.405.2

Hope I don't have to re enter my APN and email settings.

We will see.............

All settings seem to be operating, not like FOYO update.

Can't see what the update has brought.

It's a few apps updates, new radio and a few bug fixes. Not a lot really. Been using it over a month since the RUU was leaked

To be honest, I think Gingerbread will be no more apparent that FroYo once it's installed.

Some cosmetic touches but otherwise, as a 2.3 update rather than 3.0 I think it will have a fairly minimal impact on how a device looks and operates.

I'm still not convinced the Desire will even get it.

Which is why I ask whether we will be able to get it through rooting and such.

Id put a few bob on it being available for Root...

The Desire works great as it is - its simply cosmetic changes etc...like has been outlined above.

I'm happy with my set-up

- Unrooted too ! :)
