Help Question about GO SMS

I have a quick question about GO SMS. For the record I have a Droid Charge, I downloaded and installed GO SMS and I love it, for you Droid Charge users who use GO SMS or a similar program, how do you turn off the notifications for the built in SMS app. I always get two notifications, one right after the other almost at the same time. Likewise the notification pops up on the top of the screen where all the notifications show up. Is there a way to get rid of the default programs notification, and only have the GO SMS there? I tried a bunch of stuff on the phone, but could not get it done. Thanks in advance guys and gals!

You open the regular messaging program and go to settings. Then turn off notifications. Now you'll only get notifications from Go SMS
