Help Question about hard reset...

Now that I got Froyo 2.2, I want to factory reset my phone. My question is- will the marketplace remember all the apps I downloaded after I reset the phone?


Also, does backup asistant work on anyone's Incredible? Never seems to work on mine.

I use AppBrain so I have no idea about the Market. But honestly, I don't think it does.

Backup Assistant works on both my phone and my fiance's. We used it during the initial setup and then again after flashing the RUU.
 
I've had to perform a hard reset of my Dinc twice in the last month. The Market will not remember your apps. I would write down all the apps you downloaded and then take pictures of your home screens so you know where you had everything placed. This will make the process much smoother. Personally I would like to see at least a list of your apps synced with Google. This would make things much easier.

I will also try buying a larger SD card to install the apps there. I think if the apps are installed on the card you'll be fine if you ever have to perform a hard reset... but I'm not sure about this.

You should really check out AppBrain -- unless you really like writing things down. Simply install the app, create an account, and then sync your phone with AppBrain. It'll keep track of all your apps and you can even use it to "add" new apps to your phone to DL.
 
AppBrain is awesome. You can also do an export using Astro File Manager. As for your original question. One user on this forum has reported that when she logged back into Market it did remember which apps she had "purchased". She had to re-download them all obviously, but she could see which ones she had before.

I still don't know why backup assistant won't work, but I guess I can export the contacts to my SD card and then important them back.

App brain sounds like the way to go.....I have to do a hard reset now that 3G won't work properly after the update...but that's another issue.
 
Yes the free version of Astro file manager does back up apps. I use it and it works just fine.
