Root Question about InsertCoin ROM

Please bare with me on this I am fairly new too rooting/flashing.

Basically I was thinking about rooting and flashing the InsertCoin ROM to my completely stock Desire

I have downloaded Unrevoked to root, so am I correct in thinking that in order to flash this Rom i do the following steps?

1.) Root using Unrevoked
2.) Partition my SD card as described on the thread with this ROM.
3.) Flash the ROM

Another question is I dont think I can change the HBOOT because I am a mac user so when it says "stock hboot" it means the one I am running now and that i need to download the InsertCoin Sense 2.1 1.0.8 A2SD from here Baadnwz's custom ROMs: stable (top post)


Any help would be appreciated.

1) Please do make sure you use the root guide here in the "all about rooting" sticky thread but not before you read the rooting FAQ.

2) yes, whatever the rom thread says, do. Use gparted as described in the root memory FAQ here

3) You can change it once you s-off which is a bootable cd so as long as your fisher-price computer has a bootable cd, youll be fine if you want to. You are currently on a stock hboot, yep

so am i correct in thinking i do not need to change my hboot? and need that version of the rom i stated?

from what i understood in the rom thread its not essential to s-off, or is this just me understanding wrong?

Yep download the a2sd one (for stock hboot)
