Root Question about kernals and modems

Hey guys im thinking of flashing bionix 1.5 but it has JACS OC and UV kernel...im wondering when i flash back to stock do i have to use ODIN? or can i just wipe the phone then restore a nandroid backup?

My understanding is that a nandroid will not restore a kernel, that is, whatever kernel you have at the time you flash a nandroid is the kernel you will have after restoring. You would need to reflash another kernel to install something else.

It appears that using ODIN is the preferred way of flashing back to stock. The stock firmware file for use with ODIN will include the stock kernel.
