Help Question about mail notification

I have set up my msn email account so that it appears under my "mail" icon. However, when I read and delete messages from that account on my computer, my phone still has an 18 next to the envelope icon indicating that i have 18 new messages, even though these have been deleted on my computer. Do i need to delete them from the phone as well? thanks!
 
Yes, I have refreshed, but it is still saying i have new messages. these messages have been deleted on line, but have not been read or opened on the phone. When i deleted from the phone, they delete from my online mailbox, but not vice versa.
