Impudent operationg system! Daring to suggest that my bookreader is unnecessary! Seriously though, is there any way to "lock" an app so the operating system won't close it?

use the task manager in your app drawer press the app and select lock.

see people, i know this because his info tells me his launcher.... update your info people!

I use Aldiko Bookreader, and it seems like that app never closes on its own. Even when not using it, it still shows as running in the app manager.

I didn't care much for Aldiko; maybe I'll have to give it another look. I've been using FBReader.

i use golauncher myself, apps don't close immediately, you have a second to grab them in the drawer.

For some reason, FBReader closes when you go back to the home screen. I tried Aldiko and the dumb program makes you reopen your book when you go back to it. I don't understand these book readers. I've used book readers on Palm devices and on an HP IPAQ 111 which ran Windows Mobile and, when I would reload the book reader, it would automatically load the last book I'd been reading and go to the page I was on. I haven't found a single one for the Ascend that will do that.
