Question about pdanert?

cubanref

Newbie
I have a few questions regarding pdanet and was wondering if someone could help me out :)

Does anyone know how many days the free trail lasts? I've read 7, 14 and 30 days lol.

Also I haven't upgraded to the new update from HTC and was wondering if pdanet works after updating? I've read that it does for some and it doesn't for others :(

Last question- I wont be able to make or receive calls or texts while the phone is connected to the computer correct?

Sorry for the noob questions but I'm still learning and enjoying my EVO :D

Hi there. Sorry, I cant answer your questions about pda.net. However, have you tried the Easy Tether app? Its free and works well. Just follow the instructions on install closely...it has a few steps but its a novice install.

New user to pdanet, but isn't the free version (can't access https websites) free? There's suppose to be no trial?

The version that access' https (secure) websites costs money, but not very much.

Just got pdanet working again after the update, it's a very cool app, really like it.

regards and enjoy,

pdanet was the easiest 30 bucks i ever spent. first got it on my hero and it has gotten me out of a jam more than once since i could tether my netbook.

I went ahead and bought the paid app because the free one didn't allow https secured sites. It comes in very handy!

Does easy tether work for macs as well? Anyone know how long the free version last for both??

Don't know about working with Macs but as far as I know, either program works indefinitely on the free version. They just limit you from going to HTTPS sites.

What are secure websites?

Websites that are https (the little yellow lock icon) vs http

these for the most parts will be website where you need to send secure information such as bank info, personal info, etc.... as in buying things online...banking online....paypal....

I haven't tried it since the update. After the update and updating my profile, I tried the tethering that is built in to the phone and it worked just fine.

thanks for the responses guys! I guess I'll stick with the free version for now cause I don't go on too many secure sites anyways.

I'm just afraid of doing the update cause I don't want to lose tethering
