i kno this question has been asked probly a million times but is there a way you can personalize individual text messages from people? like giving each contact its own texting tone? you were able to do it with the blackberry storm but i havent figured out if u are able to with this fone

I'm on a custom ROM, but it should still be very similar:

Go to your contact, open your contact, press your menu key, select options, then you should see something about ringtones

Also WhoIsIt, which not only lets you change SMS ringtones but MMS, phone ringtones, Gmail, etc. Pretty loaded. I have Handcent, but use WhoIsIt to customize further, since changing ringtones in Handcent was a pain. Plus it has Profiles and Schedules if you want that sort of thing.

thanks...i made my ringtones with the ring droid app and in the whoisit app they dont show up...is there another app i should be using to create ringtones?im having issues with that app anyways so if there is a better app id like to know

You're probably running a 3rd party app for a function that has a stock one built into the phone. Gmail / Email, Text Messaging / Handcent, etc. Go into the settings in each one and make sure you have notifications checked in only one of them otherwise you'll get a notification from each app.

The two tones that are playing is my main notification tone n whatever tone im trying to personalize n give to a specific person
