Three days ago I got a new Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G

Question about problem, is it on all Android phones or just Samsung phones?

With a screen protector on, I'm stuck with the finger print circle that shows (faintly) on all screens, messages, photos, home screen etc. This one really pisses me off and I'm told that ALL android phones have this. If I don't use a screen protector, it doesn't show... but I must have a screen protector on there. Since I make a living with wildlife/nature/landscapes etc. customers like WA state forest service, can see that circle in the pic, which almost ruins it. If you don't use a screen protector, it's doesn't show up. I'm temped.

When I went back to the store about this to see if there was a solution, like another type of screen protector or a special case. He said no, your stuck with that. I then ask if I could give the phone back and get like say the
OnePlus 9 Pro or LG V60 ThinQ 5G or another high end brand phone instead. He said ALL new Android phones have this now, no getting around it so get use to it. So is he telling the truth or just trying to get out of me swapping for another phone?

I've honestly never heard of this. I'm trying to figure out what you're even describing here? Any chance you could upload an image of the problem?

Also, I'm failing to understand how something like this could affect your photos since you wouldn't be taking a photo of whatever is showing on your display. A screenshot sure, but an actual photo? That doesn't make sense to me.

And whatever the case, if this is an issue related to in screen fingerprint scanners, then only devices with this feature would have the issue. Not "every new Android device" as they tried to tell you.

It's not taking the picture it's the pictures I have like in gallery that I've taken with my Nikon gear.
However, unless the photo is very light, you barely see it. But it's there and bugs the crap outta me.

Well, has any one noticed this? However I assume the high end phone all have finger print scanners?
I don't want to wait to long to tell them I want something different and I do want the high end phone.

Heck, I'll go do that in the Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G category. I want to see who actually has one before I go talk to that salesman at T-Mobile.

Of course the salesman did say All new Androids screen protectors show the fingerprint scanner circle...

Is that something on the display? It actually looks like there's a hole in the screen protector (the circular region seems to lack the reflection you see on the rest of the display). In the second shot the image is actually slightly brighter and clearer in the circle, which is the opposite of what I'd expect if there was a physical difference in the screen due to the scanner being there (and also I'd expect the screen protector to obscure such a difference rather than enhance it).

BTW I agree with Brian (and actually composed a reply on the same lines yesterday to your first thread, but see I never clicked "post"): no matter what it is it could only affect phones with under-display fingerprint scanners, so your when your salesperson claimed "all Android phones have it" they were doing what many salespeople do, making some crap up so that they can get/keep the sale (or sell the item with the greatest commission).

That's what I thought too, but I ran my index finger over it lightly and harder and felt no ridge. Maybe it's half way on the other side. I think I'll go get the box I saved for that and post it here and look online about it.... I don't trust salesmen, they're there to sell whatever they have in stock. I noticed they had a lot of that particular box/brand screensaver for all brand cell phones, so maybe they have a deal with that company. Same thing at the other T-Mobile store I went to.

Read the reviews for this, it's all BAD!!! Averaging one star out of five. Review 1,3 & 4 complain about that hole. I'm taking mine back tomorrow.

Back when I bought my first phone, in the early days of digital mobile phone service in the UK, I had one salesperson tell me that one network (Vodafone) used GSM technology but another (Cellnet) used a different technology of its own. Now I knew that the two networks were both GSM (GSM was the only digital cellphone protocol licensed for use in the UK, and as radio spectrum usage is regulated what he was saying would have been entirely illegal), and that you could use the same handset on either just by swapping SIMs. The only difference was that Vodafone used "GSM" in their branding and Cellnet didn't. So I gave him a chance to correct himself and he doubled-down - I mean, he sold phones for a living, right? He had to know more than I did...

He didn't get the sale.
 
Okay, problem solved here as well. I took the Screen Protector in for refund and no problem. I told the salesman why did the other salesman, (wasn't there at the time) told me I was stuck with it as as all newer android phones have that problem. I said I found out that was not true. He didn't say no or yes, just smiled while refunding me.

Then I went to the large Verizon store in the local Mall and they had what I wanted from ZAGG.

He installed it and it looks great, no fingerprint scanner circle showing anywhere in any program! So that T-Mobile salesman was full of BULL.
