Root Question about Root/Rom for Droid 3 on ClearTalk

I asked this question a few days ago in the Droid Incredible forums, similar but for the D3:

Just switched networks from Verizon to ClearTalk. I have an unrooted/stock Droid 3. I am wondering if anybody has experience rooting and putting a custom Rom on a D3 that has been flashed over to ClearTalk (or any other MVNO for that matter, such as Cricket). My concern is that if I root and/or ROM the D3, it will mess with the "flash" that the ClearTalk store has done, and then my service will be down the drain.

I received some great direction for the Incredible, but since flashing/rooting is a bit different on the D3, I wanted to ask here as well. Thanks!

installing roms should not mess with flashed radio settings
just don't flash a SBF recovery image with rsd lite, use SBF_flash
but that should not be necessary with safestrap 3

root with MOTOFAIL “Droid 4” by Dan Rosenberg
install Safestrap v3
install up to 4 custom roms and still have stock rom untouched
