Help question about sprint navagation

What is the deal with sprint navagation. I close the app and 10 minutes later i check my atk and it's open again like a pesky little fly. Is there a way to shut the app down without deleting it and open it when needed?

Its a sprint program, so its going to be open in the background. Just because it's open in the background, doesnt mean its using any power. This is why most people dont use task killers, as the OS will just reopen the programs once you close them.
