Root Question about Titanium Backup

Bob Cat

Careful, They're sharp!!
I'm going to change roms. Can I use Titanium Backup to export my apps to sd card so I don't have to reinstall everything again. And if I can How do I do it or is there a different app to do this. Also will it back up calls and texts so they don't get lost. Thanks.:)

Yes, you absolutely can. I would have answered earlier, but I haven't even turned on my computer for more than two days. You can probably guess why.

Titanium Backup has batch functions that do things like back up all user apps & data, all user and system apps & data, restore apps & data. All of the batch operations allow you to select which apps to backup and restore. (The free app will confirm each restore; the paid app will confirm at the beginning of the restore and then go through your list, so I strongly suggest paying the few dollars.) I also suggest *not* restoring system apps if you are switching to a different ROM, unless they are both Cyanogen 2.2 ROMs, or both HTC frameworks 2.1 ROMs (like xtrSENSE and xtrROM, for example.)

The developer has an official page with a FAQ and tips. Titanium Backup for Android ? Official Site

Thanks Doogald, I was actually wanting to backup all of the market apps. Some are paid apps. That's good to know apout the system apps.
