Lunatrix

Newbie
my phone used to have root, it doesnt now. but im wondering if there is any way to upgrade my android version on my ZTE Warp N860. Currently at 2.3.5. when i go to update android version it says no updates available so im wondering if i can do it through root or something like that. any reply's will be helpfull. thank you.

i dont mind rooting that doesnt bother me since its pretty easy to do, but AFTER i have root i can update to jellybean in that post?

Yes, its a work in progress by our devs, don't expect complete perfection just yet, and please read the OP. What works, and what doesn't.

ok, i probably wont do it because i want use of the camera. sounds stupid but the whole reason i was looking into this is because Vine came out for android today and it doesnt support anything less then android 4.0 -.-

there wouldnt be any way around that would there?

If you're rooted, you may be able to trick the android market by editing your build.prop file located in /system/build.prop. Theres a line that says ro.build.version.release=2.3.5 change it to 4.2.1 or something and reboot. It might work it might not.

i am rooted but how do i get to the /system file? if i do it through my comp im pretty sure its only going through my SD Card.

i havent, suggestions?

preferbly SOMETHING 4.0 and higher, but if not, anything higher then 2.3.5 should be better lmao.

We have 2.3.5 and 4.2 roms but the jelly bean ones aren't much for everyday use and the gingerbread roms come only in one version. They're way faster than normal stock though.

i dont understand why ZTE hasnt made any updates for the warp? lack of hardware power im guessing?

We have cm10, if it were hardware related cm10 wouldn't have been possible. ZTE is just bad when it comes to updates that are worthwhile :o
