Root question about using a partial one click root method

I had a one v, and got the evo asa grad present. i used hasoons one click root and it rooted the phone like a charm which is all i really want.
Im sort of lazy so i was wondering if i could use the same program to unlock bootloader one my evo?

IT WORKED! I used the toolkit for hasoon2000's one v and it unlocked bootloader easily. Pays to be lazy i guess

unlocked bootloader is not the same as having root, but yeah, the official HTC tool to do it is pretty much 1 click also
