I have a Nexus 4 phone and it is set up with a Gmail Account
However I have another GMail Account I sometimes have to check also

Can I view this without having to add it as an Account to my phone?
If so how
Thanks:confused:

That is a new one for me
You can log in to any account on www.gmail.com
Maybe clear cache in the app manager (in your general settings)

Other option is using two different mail apps; one for each.

The other option is to tell Gmail to collect and forward your second account using POP3; you set this up in your gmail settings on the website, not on the device. The second account would need to have POP3 access enabled of course.

This is normally used to access non-Google email accounts (I use it to forward my ISP mail account) but I see no reason it can't be used to forward other Gmail accounts.

Here's a pretty good write-up of how it's done:

How To Combine All Your Email Addresses into One Gmail Inbox

If you don't want to do any of that you can always setup the built in "Email" app to access your second gmail account, so keeping it completely separate from the account you're logged into.

Lots of options really :-)

System Settings > Accounts > Add account > Google account. Once added, you can set up the sync options to only sync Gmail for the second account, and then the Gmail app will let you switch between the two.

If I set up the 2nd gmail account in windows mail program as IMAP can I access it on my nexus 4 and 7 tablet ?
Is that a better option?
Not sure regarding forwarding. If I set it up on windows mail why does it need to be forwarded when its there already lol sorry to be thick but its confusing

Why not just add the second account so you can check it in the native gmail client?

I was kinda thinking along the same lines as codesplice. My wife has 3 or 4 different ones set up so she can view all from the native gmail app; a couple of our children have email and she has theirs set up so she can keep an eye out on who they send and receive email to/from. The app lists the account and puts 'em separate so that it's not confusing as to which one you are viewing.

Yes. The "Email" app does IMAP or POP, IMAP is designed for multiple device use.

It can get confusing. The advantage (for me) is that you don't need to set it up anywhere other than in the Gmail settings; after that you can access it from any device anywhere that has a browser, or of course from any device with a dedicated Gmail app like the Nexus has. All your mail in one place.

Like I said, lots of options including those that others have mentioned. Which is best for you is something only you can decide.

I'm with the others in not understanding why you want to make this harder than it needs to be.

I have 3 gmail account synced to my phone. 2 of them only sync email and nothing else. It's incredibly convenient and not a hassle at all.

just remember to log your google account out of your browser and you can then log in to any gmail account....

So can I set it up in windows mail program on my PC and on my nexus 4 and 7 also?

I only really want to check for certain emails not sync and download the lot.
