Newbie
Dropped my phone and yes it shattered, it still works the same but looks like hell. Ive youtubed it and it seems easy enough to do if i take my time..Has anyone done this or know anything about it???...Also two things...someone said that when you get the broken glass off youre supposed to take off the film over the digitzer??? true/un true and the replacement part is like 30 bucks on amazon, but it says its the i900 version...i guess thats the international one,but when it comes to the glass replacement does it really matter ? Thanks guys any tips or info would be extremely appriciated. Ivan

Also on amazon there is a panagear brand and one that says by samsung.....panagear screen is 22.99 and comes with the tools and the samsung one cost 30 and doesnt come with the tools is. do you guys think the product quality will be the same?

Honestly I would go with Samsung. I don't know if Panagear has Corning Gorilla Glass 2

Looks legit to me. The only glass I ever replaced was my first 2nd gen iPod touch. I've always had an Otterbox Defender Series on my glass screened phones so I haven't had to worry.

Are you going to do this? O_O

Who me? No, my glass is fine. I'm just passing on information for the OP. :)

I'm in the same boat dropped mine and looks like crap lol. But, I have insurance and I would have to pay $150 but they would replace the phone completely is it worth doing that or replacing the glass myself?

That is all up to you. If you read the link provided you'll see in the comments that the person who performed this had a problem. It is cheaper to replace the glass alone but safer to replace the device completely if you aren't too keen on changing up the hardware on a mobile device.

Yeah same Here They'll Replace Everything For The Same Price, But I Don't Want ToRe Root And All That, Just Try It For 30$ Myself I Think I've Watched The YouTube Enough Only Thing I'm Not About sIt's Removing The Extra Shards After You Take Off Old Screen Do I Used Take Or An ActualCloth And Clean It Micro Fiber One

Ok I Did It, It Is A Very Do ableFix......However The Thing NO ONE SAID I Think It Depends On The Type Of Break You Have..For example Mine Had A Almost A Hundred small Shards Of small Breaks...If You Have One Big Break Where You Can Pull Off Big pieces, Go For It...Small Breaks Let a Professional Do It. all The Small a shards Scratch Your LCD Or You A Will Using A Razor...I Will Be Getting Either A New Phone OR A NewLCD Display...Screen Is still Very Responsive

Thanks for the update. Like the original person, you could've used a very sticky tape to try to keep the pieces together. I'm ot sure if you sot that but I'm glad you're up and running again!
