Root Question for a Dev... Is this even remotely possible???

I was just curious about something.... I saw a commercial the other day for this phone:

Windows Phone 8X by HTC Overview - HTC Smartphones

Is there any way to port this over to the Evo? I played with a Windows phone and absolutely love the live tiles!! I have seen themes for launchers to make it look like a windows phone, but they all pretty much suck.

I figured our phones were pretty much like computers. You can take almost any PC and put either Linux or Windows on it. So why can't we put windows instead of an Android os on our phones?

Am I wasting forums space or is this actually even possible? I know there would be issues of drivers and what not, but if we can get the windows rom for that HTC, I would think alot of the drivers would be the same....

Windows Phone is a Closed Source UI.............. If anyone was able to even get it to Boot Microsoft will probably have them in a Court Room faster then they could upload it

Android to Windows Ports = Okay since Android is Open Source

Windows to Android Ports = Illegal since Windows is Closed Source

The least amount of risk would be to port the theme...........

They should make Windows 8 Open source, I'll fix it for them the first day when I delete everything and install Windows 7

Good topic though subzero it would be cool to flash Windows roms

I think they hit the money with the tiles...for tabs and phones. Don't try to turn everyone's pc into a tab though
