Question for HoneyComb & Sense users

I'm sorry for such a stupid question but this is the only thing I need to know about the Gnex.

I'm getting it regardless!!!!

On my HTC phones I use and need their calender widget. One of my screens i have a full, month view calender. I can look at it and see whats coming up for the month. I used a non-sense phone once and could not get a decent calender to use.

Does Honeycomb have a Calender Widget? Or does it have a Calender that will default to month view that I can put on a screen?

I know the Gnex might be different but I heard it's similar to HC

Thanks in advance. It's the only thing making me a little nervous. But either way, I'm getting it. I'll live without if I have to.

You can get beautiful widget from android market. That looks very similar to weather, date/time widget on Sense. Honeycomb has its own calendar widget and you can choose from plenty of calendar widgets from market too. ICS won't be any different on this. So there is nothing to worry.

+1 on the beautiful widgets for Time/Date/Weather, I use it instead of Sense. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a calendar like the one you are talking about. I also rely heavily on my HTC Calendar widget and will be on the hunt for a quality full screen calendar widget. I'll post here if I come across one.

thats what i thought. My girl had a droid pro. I'm pretty good with phones. And I couldn't find ONE!!!!!! (one that was "usable" I should say). I looked and looked. Thats why we need someone that has used both (sense and HC) to tell us if the HC is close.

I don't care about the weather widget. thats not important to me. the calender is very important.

I use wizz widgets for my honeycomb tablet. It has widgets for calendar, facebook etc.
They are scrollable and resizeable and best of all...its free.:D

Jorte is what i did end up using. it was alright. but not close to the HTC one.

but thats OK. I'll just have to wait and see. Because NOTHING is stopping me from getting that phone. It's so bad now i can't even stand it. the 28th can't come soon enough.(if thats even the official). I've never wanted anything this bad before

thanks for all the help.

Karimski, does your Honey comb have a stock caleder widget?

My favorite calendar widget is the GO Calendar Widget. You can set it for the full month and then hit the icon on the corner and it will switch to agenda view. Sadly, it only works on the GO Launcher.

Second favorite would be Business Calendar. I actually got the Pro version for free as one of Amazon's free daily apps.

Pure Grid calendar widget looks good, but I don't have any experience with it:

Nice ylexot, that "Go" one looks close to the HTC. Not bad, thanks

it's nice and rounded and easy to read. the Jorte is kind of rudimentary.

and go launcher is nice anyways. With not having sense anymore i will probably need that anyway.

thanks again. I feel better.....haha

The big difference between what HTC and many custom launchers have with their widgets and what Vanilla Android has (prior to Honeycomb) is the ability to scroll. If you are running Gingerbread or Froyo and don't have a custom launcher then many of those widgets won't scroll. With Ice Cream Sandwich, this shouldn't be a problem.

You should be able to use any of these and have proper scrolling:

Android Pro Widgets
Wizz widget
Colorize Widget

Although, ICS does have its own calendar widget.

S.M. that one is perfect. you guys are the best. I'm sorry to be this picky but we have nothing else to talk about for a few more weeks....HaHa

But i love that calender. Especially the glass one. it is real close to Sense.

OfTheDamned, i didn't even think of the scrolling part. Thats another nice Sense thing. I go to the calender and can scroll to any month i want.

Do you know S.M. if that can be done in Pure Calender??

It does- but you have to be using a stock launcher that has widget scrolling enabled (GO, ADW, etc). I do not know if ICS or Honeycomb support scrollable widgets, but if they do than it will completely stock.

Pure Calendar has been around for a while- since between the launches of the MyTouch and the Hero from HTC I think (approximately the birth of Sense).

hopefully ICS supports it. Because the last thing i want to do is put a launcher over ICS.

I love Sense. i think it's the best one around. But once i saw the ICS video i was in love!!!!! But thanks for all the help. Now i have some options at least.

Honeycomb supports scrollable widgets nicely. ICS would be the same or better on that.

ICS has scroll-able widgets, i know for sure. Also it has a stock calender widget that you can re-size to fit one entire home-screen. The reviews i saw show that its in agenda form but idk if it changes when you re-size it (ex small = day medium = agenda full=whole month)

I use Pure Calendar (Agenda view though, not the full month "grid") and it is very customizable. You can do a glass or fully transparent background which is what I like to use; the glass is very close to the look Sense has.

This is what I use as well, it's great
