Root question for you all

if i have returned to stock,if i go to settings and format internal,ive got both ex,internal bk up already on comp.so would it hurt and gwt rid of anything i might of missed, and one more thing,im havin a brain fart on how to delete the cwm ,evrytime i rboot ro recovery its there lol,ive donr this alot but if you jus once change your routine up it messes u all uo lol :smokingsomb:

I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with wiping those but as long as you have your stuff backed up you should be good.

As far as removing cwm goes, the AIO on the ATR has an option to install the stock recovery.

The cwm was a download from the playstore so you need to uninstall both su and cwm and then go into the settings so u can factory reset .

i was going threw my folders and saw some that shouldnt b there if i wasnt suppose to be rooted,not sure if the metro pep would look threw and see them,plus i figured starting fresh might help lag n all wen i root,by the way i went bk to lg to check my update and i was up todate it said,but under options is a update recovery or something like that,so i ran it and it took prob a good hour to complete,if anyone else has tried it,any diff,or the purpose for it? thanks

I did this and had been telling many to do this to correct problems . Did it work . This will even wipe out root and return you back to stock

i was unrooted but flashed my stock version that i mae bk in jan 2013,and as i was looking in the sd card i saw folders from rom tool box and some other rooted apps folders that shouldnt be there if they were going to go snooping,but like the clockwork folder i just renamed it clockwidget,but anyways it all worked,and most important thing of all,take out your ex sd card!!! well i told metro that i was getting messages about a update,and i was told that i could do it on lg.com,but that isnt it,you have to take your phone in and let them install watever it is,took about 45mins,but i do have to say that the lag and all the other probs seem to be fixed,now later tonight im going to root the phone and see how it does,ps there is a new lg esteem comming out but its not called the esteem,sumthing like lg optimus or sumthing,but it will come with the ice cream sandwhich ,but as of now they will not push to let the old esteemers get it,thats all i have for you guys now,but i will be flashing,rooting tonight,ill b sure to let you guys know how it comes,i might try a speedtest first and post wat i come up with :smokingsomb:

Now can i ask you a question you taken the lg to the store they did a update or fixed your device . Now if you wipe your device . I think you may need to take another trip to the lg store to redo what they did . Cause my boy at the corporate store said its nothing they did but make sure you have proper baseband. You didnt have to change anything on sd card . Just put in another sd card or played as if you didnt know it didnt have one . .

so would you not root again ? or if i made a complete stock bk up will it be the same as wen i left the store because i didnt add any apps,just plain jane like out of the box? cnow with the two of us at the moment,we gotta come up with something for our esteem n help make the users happy again lol any ideas?

I say root make a backup and look through it before you root . If you dont notice anything on sd card or acting funny or lagging after rooting then put the backup of the number 2 and monitor . If you notice it change in behavior such as lagging etc. Stop and flash that stock again . I dont think they did nothing but made a copy of your card and getting in your business

i can tell you they didnt get much after i deleted things and renamed and so on lol,i think i might b one or two steps ahead of them lol,ill try wat u said,it b bout 8/830 my time florida,where you at?
