Help Question: MMS Fix?

I'm curious to know if there is any way to get the default messaging app to receive group text correctly. Is it the fault of a set up error or just the way the LG Volt kitkat is set up and is there any way around that?

Can you describe the problem in more detail?

I'm using the Hangouts app and I'm able to receive group MMS messages, although I think they don't get grouped into the same thread and I sometimes have to specifically tell it to download the message.

Also, I don't know if this applies to you or not, but my service provider is Ting and I had to allow MMS messages through their online configuration page.

It's the fault of LG's prepaid phones. I've looked around for a while, the only way around it is with a 3rd party messaging app, such as hangouts or textra

More specifically, it's the fact that the stock messaging app simply doesn't support group messages.

On a technical note, MMS is picture messages, not group messages.

I was able to get group messages using Hangouts and this fix.
It works beautifully for me.
It also allows you to get group messages as individual texts in the stock messaging app.
(I'm on Virgin Mobile, but I bet there are analogous fixes for Boost, etc.)
