Root Question on Root

Basically I rooted my Milestone XT720 (SG) this morning using the universal one click androot?

I like to customize the look of my phone alot and I heard rooting was the way to go. But now I realize I have a locked bootloader which perhaps restricts the phone?

Can I still install a black status bar for my phone?

And what cool things can I do with my rooted phone still?

You will need to flash clockwork recovery in order to unlock the bootloader.

Only rooted devices will allow this to work, so you have done the first step.

Download ROM manager from the market. Once you do this, you will open the app (at this time it will ask for superuser permissions which you now have since root.), and flash clockwork.

Then you can begin installing themes/roms such as the status bar customization.

Are themes specific to individual phones though? Or like Cyanogen Roms and stuff like that can be only used with specific models?

Sorry I tried reading up but it's really messy right now T_T

hi im from sg too

i am having the same problem. i have rom manager and i click reboot to recovery but it showed the loading sign to recovery then an exclaimation mark then.. it just blacked out and restarted normally

any idea why?

Right now my mobile (XT720 ) is locked now. If i rooted this from the above procedure, My mobile will be Unlocked ?
please suggest me.
