I was playing around with some of the settings I've learned from reading this forum, and one in particular caused me to wander deeper into my phone. The post about forced roaming. In that thread, you get the instructions which lead you to
Press: Menu -> Add -> Shortcuts -> Activites -> com.lge.LgHiddenMenu -> ServicesLG.
EDIT: You will need LauncherPro to view these setting options.
Branching out from what that post had originally stated, I explored the menu some more and came across Data Settings close to the bottom. Under the Data Settings there is the DUN NAI drop down menu with a Yes or No option. I assume this will allow you to use the phone a modem, mine was checked yes, so I left it alone.
My question is in regards to the next menu entitled PPP Carrier. In that drop down menu it give a list of several carriers, Verizon being one of them.
I selected Verizon (I'm currently on Sprint) and then backed out to save the changes and the phone reset. When it came back on, a few of my app icons were missing and the android icon had replaced them. When I went to select the app, a message saying I didn't have that app installed popped up. I downloaded the app again with no problem. When I switched back to the Sprint Network, all of my apps were back and in working order.
Does anyone know what switching the PPP carrier actually does?
