Question Regarding Disk Space & Maybe Partioning

Hey guys, I went into my local store today to check the phone out (they didn't even have it on display at 2:00pm). Anyway, I noticed some strange readings regarding disk space. Can someone explain to me what I'm seeing in these readings?

I guess my questions(s) are: why does the SD free storage on the Apps screen say only 10GB free when only 1.6MB are used? Over on the Storage screen it says 15GB. 15GB sounds about right after formatting, but that's still a disparity of about 5-6GBs.

Why is there only 2.2GB free on internal storage? The OS isn't using up that much disk space is it?

Phones with large (+4 GB) amounts of internal memory have it partitioned for the sytem and apps with the rest for media, data and caches. It mounts at /sdcard so it's listed as an SD card even though its an internal and non-removable partition. I would guess this phone has 16GB total memory with a 4GB system partition and 12GB sd partition. The numbers look right.

OK, but this phone has 16GB of internal memory and 16GB external memory. AM I still missing something then or am I not getting it?

It may also have a 16GB MicroSD card in it as well so you'd have a 4GB system partition, a 12 GB internal storage partition and an external SD card.

If you want to buy the phone and mail it to me, I'll be happy to check it out for you. ;)

I remember seeing some reviews and the Rezound came with alot of videos and music pre loaded on it that along with Sense and all the VZW Crapware could probably take up close to 6gigs of space

I'll get right on that lunatic!!!! ;-)

I couldn't locate any videos on the demo device. I looked, and only thing I found was a Watch app that wanted to connect to the network to obviously start downloading something. I still may have overlooked something, but did look for the Videos app because I wanted to see what the display quality was like (like what that Wirefly video showed).

Not a chance it takes up that much space. You have to figure that they will leave some space for future upgrades, not to mention we dont want another Inc 150mb partition debacle :D
