Question regarding stock and extended battery.

How many mah is the stock and how many is the extended? is it worth it? how big of a battery increase is it? ie...is stock is 900 and extended is 1800 does that means 2x battery life?

The stock is 1500 mAh. The extended is 1880 minimum/1930 typical, so we'll average to 1900 mAh.

(P.S. I don't know why Moto advertises it as an 1800 mAh battery, makes no sense to me. Those numbers I gave you are off the battery itself so are accurate)

In theory that gives you about a 27% increase in battery life. I'm not sure why, but in practice, it feels much bigger than that. I went from the stock battery, which gave me good battery life, to the extended battery - and I feel like I got at least a 50% increase. Of course that's impossible, but it does provide a lot of extra juice.

I'm guessing the perceived huge increase is because it gets me over whatever hump I was on before - that is, it now lasts past all of my normal AND heavy usage, whereas the stock might have died at the end of a heavy day. So even though it's only 25%, it's the critical 25% to finish an extremely heavy day of usage (and believe me, I virtually never manage to run it to dead).

To the OP: IT IS WORTH IT. Even penny. I've never needed to look for that outlet and run with my charger near the end of the day thanks to this beauty of a battery.

My experience is like Binary Visions, it's just a 27% increase, but oh what an increase it is.

You won't be disappointed.

Just to plug this awesome battery and what you can get out of it with light to moderate usage, check out this screenshot below. I'll let the numbers speak for themselves :)

It is only 1mm thicker, but physics dictates that the weight will not be the same. It's not heavy, though.

$25 plus tax from verizon. They had a sale for corp accounts, 50% off. They are having it again now.

$25 for both? how do i get access to the corporate accnt?

Yeah, both. You access a corp account by getting a job at a company that VZW offers discounts to.

You may be able to call Verizon, tell them a friend of yours told you about the 50% off, and ask if you could have it too. I bet if you add enough honey in your voice, they just might give you a "one time" discount. Oh, and I got free Fedex 2 day shipping too.

i paid 40 bucks for my extended battery. after phone calls, messaging, and surfing the internet on and off, i'm sitting at 40 percent charge. 13 hours and 24 minutes since it has been plugged in. with the stock battery (which i actually think is pretty good), i was at 40 percent sooner in the day, and i was being much more careful not to drain the battery. that's a real improvement considering how much i surf the net on the device now.

additionally, if you get an extended battery, you now have a backup stock battery to fall back on if anything goes wrong.

i think getting the extended battery (especially considering how reasonably priced it is) is a good choice.

the battery i picked is the 1930 mAh BH6x from Motorola. i think i paid a little over $40 bucks at the Verizon store. it retails a little higher, but if i got a deal on it, probably anyone can.

go to motorola.com and use this code GIFT4U60 . just remember to order the extended battery door. i bought both last week for $31 including shipping and they came in today!

EDIT: no longer valid :(

your welcome:D.... JK!:)

I ordered with that Gift4u60 code just 3 days ago... got extended battery and replacement cover for $31.62 or something like that! :)

Waiting on it to arrive now but its already pulled from my bank account so order should be good.

If you do a search or go to the "Accessories" section of this forum, there are lots of pics and threads about this.

For anyone on the fence of the extended battery...DO IT. You will not regret. My phone can hit 40% and it will last me all night long if I'm going out. It usually takes me a day and a half to drain in with regular to heavy usage. It's so nice to have a phone that's capable of so much that I don't have to worrying about dying on me!!! One more reason that the Droid X reigns supreme at the moment IMO :)

I would highly recommend AGAINST installing the stock door with the extended battery.

This is a pretty high-density device, so putting pressure on all of the little soldered bits inside, as well as the screen, is not a good idea.

Use the extended battery back.

the regular battery door still fits just as an fyi... making the extended battery a no brainer.

Bad idea.

Ditto and most cases still fit just fine.
