Help Question: Wants to install PC software with 2.2?

Question on the PC software with 2.2
Now when I connect my Dinc phone to my PC, a window pops up that says

I recently received the Froyo update, and now, whenever I plug my phone into my PC, the verizon site (with annoying music and video) automatically opens.

Any ideas on how to prevent this from occurring?

Hit Call
Type Password 000000 (that's 6 zeros)
Hit Feature Settings
Choose CD ROM
Click Disable
Hit menu,
commit modifications (it will say no item changed)

OK,well that worked. But WTF?! I have so many questions at this point, I think I will just accept this as is, and get a drink. No really, my head is spinning on the stupidity of what has just occurred.

I followed the instructions and don't have a CD ROM option in "Feature Settings" or any of the other items.
