Let me start off by saying I am a noob and really have no idea about what to do. So I did the 1 click method above, and it seemed like it worked flawlessly, but I am not sure what to look for to see whether it worked or not. Also, what do I do to my phone now?

If it worked you should see Superuser in your app drawer. As far as what to do now, whatever you want. Seriously, check the all things root section for your phone, pay tons of attention to the instructions, and before you flash anything, make sure you make a nandroid backup.

No superuser. What should I do?

OK, I read through the method you used to root and I guess it doesn't install superuser. Search for it in the market, you should be able to install it. You could also try installing Titanium Backup (there is a free version). If it asks for superuser permissions when you open it then you are rooted.
