Root Questions About CyanogenMod 7

Have rooted and am really close to trying the cyanogenMod 7 ROM but have a few questions first.

1.The AWESOME dudeman1996 has posted links to all files to download - is the version I should get calle swiftdroid 2.0?

2.I've read the battery life is very poor with this ROM. Is it really that bad?

3.I've also seen that there is no way to calibrate the touchscreen with the ROM and that it can mess up and destroy the calibration option forever even when you go back to your stock ROM. Is this such a problem?

4.After I install the ROM is there a good chance I wil lhave to do all kinds of other little tweaks like installing the google apps etc etc as I really am a bit poor at all this.

Answers to all or any of that would help me out so much.

Thanks in advance everyone.

1. The latest version is called Swiftdroid v2.0 ASIS, the link isnt in the op of the CM7 thread, but its in this post http://androidforums.com/optimus-gt...oid-2-3-4-avaliable-gt540-43.html#post3405521

2. It is quite heavy on battery life, I have to charge my phone every day with Swiftdroid, that is with my cpu overclocked to 825MHz though

3. There is no screen calibration, but I have never had any calibration issues.

4. Gapps comes with the rom, and there are a few settings tweaks you can do to set it how you want it, like CPU clock speed, lock screen type, various display settings etc etc, but it does work out the box, the latest version should automatically get your apns for mobile internet as well.

Excellent Delsus.
Many thanks.
Does the ROM automaticly put the clock at 825 or does it leave it at the standard 600 as I would want mine at 600 which I presume would give a better battery life?

Anyone else got any opinions?

cheers.

It leaves it at 600 when you flash it, but you can increase it if you want to.

And yet 600 will give slightly better battery life than 825.
