Root Questions about memory error... It's fixed but now what????

Hello,

So I think I've installed a patch to fix the memory issues with my wife's Incredible. As part of the process I downgraded to 2.2. If I let the phone run an OTA back to 2.3.4, will that negate all of the work I've just done?

Additionally I used Titanium backup (I am using the free version) to back up her data. For whatever reason it didn't restore all of her texts (I still have them as part of the phones "stock" image). Any thoughts as to why the text messages wouldn't have transfered?

Any help would be appreciated!

The OTA will not install if you are running a custom recovery (which you have) so to upgrade to gingerbread you need to install the gingerbread ROM.
Are you saying you made a nandroid backup before downgrading to 2.2? If you did then you can just restore that nandroid.

Cool thanks!

Yup, but I did explicitly run a backup in Titanium for the SMS/MMS messages and they didn't restore when I ran the batch restore.

When you restore the nandroid, you will get them back...
I think you have to explicitly tell titanium to restore them since it is a system app... but I've always recommended SMS backup to save texts and I also think verizon offers a text backup app.

So I thought I had this thing wrapped up....

Now it seems that the phone is having problems connecting to the internet to browse or download app data. Anyone have any advice as to what I could do?
