Help Questions about rooting

[Need help please]

So I been trying to figure out how could I save or download certain files online that you would normally need a computer to download and operate but only if want to do it with my android if that's a thing. I been researching all day and tried alot but it just seems that my phone isn't meant for it. I havnt tried rooting my phone so would that be the way to go? I would do it on a laptop or computer but mine recently broke and I'm kinda stuck without it for a while so I need something, any help would be appreciated

I think you can download any type of file by pressing the download link to it, but as for running/operating the file/program I don't think you can.

Since you've not said what it is you want to download it's hard to give more specific advice.

What phone do you have? What carrier?
What Android version?

Can you post the website you are downloading from?

Sorry for not being a little more specific, I am trying to get ps4 fileninja, I'm trying to get mods on my ps4 for certain games like fallout since Bethesda can't fix issues they are having with their own mods. So basically I am trying to figure this out so I can mod my ps4 and fileninja brings me to an app called mega because it says my phone can't open it or whatever which is weird because my android downloads basically anything as yall have previously said. I have a note 5 with att.
